- To learn to surf basic swimming skills needed.
- How deep of water will I be surfing in?
- You will learn to surf in water which is waist deep.
- What do I need to bring for a surfing lesson?
- Sunscreen, towel, swim suit
- What do I need to bring for the surf camp?
- Sunscreen, towel, swim suit, extra snacks/water.
- Do I need to bring my own wetsuit?
- No, you do not need to bring your own wetsuit. Executive Surfing Club / Gnarly Neal's Surf Camp provides each surfer with a wetsuit.
- Do I need to bring lunch to the surf camp?
- No, lunch is provided daily.
- Are there any age restrictions for lesson and surf camp?
- Yes, a surfer must be at least six years of age for a private or group lesson and eight to sixteen years of age for a surf camp.
- What does a surf camp entail?
- A surf camp entails four hours of surf lessons, lunch, and an opportunity to win a surfboard.
- Where do I meet the instructor(s) for my private/group/camp lesson?
- For your private/group/camp lesson you will meet your instructor on the beach behind the Hotel del Coronado.
- How will I be able to identify / locate my instructor?
- You will be able to identify/locate your instructor by his/her Executive Surfing Club / Gnarly Neal's Surf Camp T-shirt.
- What is the student/instructor ratio?
- For group lessons and summer camp the student/instructor ratio is one instructor for every five surfers.
- Can I have a smaller than 5/1 instructor/surfer ratio?
- Yes, to have a smaller than 5/1 instructor/surfer ratio you will need to request a private lesson.
- What is a private lesson?
- A private lesson is 1.5 hours with you and an instructor. It can also be you and a group of friends or family members taking the lesson together; no one else.
- What is a group lesson?
- A group lesson is a 1.5 hour lesson allows you the opportunity to learn to surf and make new friends.
- What type of surfboards does Executive Surfing Club / Gnarly Neal's Surf Camp use?
- For safety measures Executive Surfing Club / Gnarly Neal's Surf Camp provides it's surfers with soft boards.
- How long in advance to I need to book a lesson/camp?
- Lessons can be booked as short has 4 hours in advance, but to secure a lesson 24 hours advance is preferred.
- What is the cancelation policy for group lessons, private lessons, and surf camp?
- To receive a full refund each surfer must call a minimum of 4 hours before their scheduled lesson.
